I believe it is beneficial because you are
introducing less energy into a system as opposed to diathermy or micro-wave diathermy or
ultra-sound which has a deeper heating effect. If you can get the same job done with less
energy and in a fraction of the time that other treatments take, then it is a good and
beneficial modality. From a common sense point of view, our patients like the treatment.
They were impressed with the treatment and it helped them.
I have one patient who continues on the Sonotron
every 4 or 5 weeks, and she is employed as a florist and uses her hands all the time and
she comes in and gets her treatment dose every few weeks and it keeps her working.
I see a trend from a common sense, practical
point of view in private practice with my patients that its easy for them to
tolerate, it doesnt take up a lot of their time or work - they can come for a quick
treatment and they are back out doing what they are doing and its effective. |
